Nokia E6 Review

The Nokia E6 is a business phone with exclusive messaging buttons. So it is a business messenger phone from the same E-series. E71 and E72 are phones from the same segment which did turn out to be popular. The E6 is an upgraded version of the E5 which came to the market last year.

The thing about the E6 that catches eyes almost instantly is the 2.46” display panel which has a resolution of 640×480 pixels. The display is sharp and is a TFT capacitive touchscreen. Apart from Nokia, there are many other messaging phones which have come up with touchscreens.

Microsoft’s corporate cooperation tools such as the SharePoint and Exchange have been integrated into the Nokia E6. It also has a VPN backing and a host of other enterprise tools for connectivity. It also has a hardware device encryption that is a must for business messenger phones. The E6 runs on the latest Symbian Anna which features upgraded software and user interface.

The E6 has an 8 MP camera which can record HD videos of 720p with 25 frames per second. In addition to that, there are also a host of multimedia features like FM radio, microSD card slot, a 3.5 mm universal audio socket and a GPS with the latest Ovi maps.

The Nokia E6 is a 3.5G device which supports download speeds up to 10.2 Mbps and upload speeds of 2.0 Mbps. It is also Wi-Fi enabled and is compatible with 802.11bgn networks. The E6 is powered by an enormous 1500mAh that can deliver a talk time of about 7.5 hours on any 3G networks.

It looks like the mobile manufacturer has decided to make a Nokia better than the Nokia. It has succeeded to some extent when you compare the Microsoft integration and the attractive touchscreen.

Unusual is that the E6 has come out at a time when Nokia is concentrating on making mobiles with Windows platform. However, Windows won’t work with the E6, so when time comes to replace it, the situation might be uncomfortable.

If you want to buy Nokia E6, then it’s expected to arrive in second quarter of 2011 and third quarter for North America in silver, black and white.
